Dr. Reynolds Tendai Muza qualified and became a member of CGA-Canada. CGA-Canada is one of the World’s big membership bodies for professional accountants domiciled in Canada.
Dr. Reynolds Muza is the elected Chairman of the Universities Forum in Zimbabwe. The universities forum is a consultative body that was set up by the Public Accountants and Auditors Board (PAAB), in Zimbabwe. The PAAB is the Regulator and Oversight body for the Accountancy profession. The Board is responsible inter alia for granting practicing rights to qualifying professionals entering the audit profession and accountancy.
As Chairman of the Universities forum, the Dr. works closely with the Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (ZIMCHE). ZIMCHE is a statutory body which is the standards setter for higher learning institutions in Zimbabwe. The Universities Forum’s objective is to enhance and maintain the quality of accountancy education offered by universities offering accountancy degree programmes, with the overall outcome of milling out graduates that meet with the requirements and expectations of consumers of services, in industry and commerce, the public sector and public practice.
Dr. Reynolds T. Muza holds several qualifications. He holds a Doctorate in Accounting, he is a Certified Public Accountant, CPA (the overseas CPA); a Chartered Accountant, CA; a Chartered Certified Accountant, ACCA; a Certified General Accountant (Canada), CGA; an International Accountant , being a member of the Association of International Accountants (AIA) UK; a Certified Professional Forensic Accountant CPFA; conferred by Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants, Canada, a body that is Chartered Federally under the laws of the State of Delaware, USA.
In Zimbabwe, the doctor is the representative of the Institute of Certified Professional Forensic Accountants (Canada) making him an authority in the discipline of Forensics apart from being an authority in the accountancy and audit disciplines.
He graduated from University of South Africa (UNISA) before proceeding with training at one of the international audit firms in Zimbabwe. He has extensive experience in Audit, Tax, Advisory and Forensics in the Region. In relaxed times, he can communicate in English, Shona, Chewa, Swahili, Zulu and Ndebele languages.
The doctor sits in the highest body for External Auditors and Accountants the PAAB as the Board’s Vice Chairman. On the other hand he is the President of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Zimbabwe), ICPA (Zimbabwe).
At Grant Thornton he is on the International Financial Reporting Standards World-wide contact group making him one of the first port of call for consultancy in International Accounting Standards matters.
